Poll: Emanuel’s Unfavorables Rival Green Bay, Traffic

10-2014EmanuelPollingChicago, IL – New polling from Bob Fioretti’s mayoral campaign shows that Mayor Emanuel remains unpopular.  For a comparison, recent campaign polling tested the favorability ratings of Mayor Emanuel, the Green Bay Packers, the Fox News channel and traffic on the Eisenhower.

“A defined image is normally the goal of a politician, but similar to morning traffic and Fox News was probably not the mayor’s goal when he took office,” said Dave Beattie, Fioretti’s campaign pollster.

Both white and African American voters have an unfavorable opinion of Mayor Emanuel, and younger voters tend to have a more unfavorable opinion of the mayor than voters over 65.

“Well, there’s good news and bad news for the Rahm Emanuel campaign: The bad news is that Democratic-leaning Chicago dislike Rahm more than they dislike the Fox News cable channel. The good news is that they dislike the Green Bay Packers more,” said Michael Kolenc, an advisor to Fioretti’s campaign.  “You know the mayor’s campaign is in trouble when more people dislike their candidate than morning traffic on the Eisenhower.”

The poll was conducted on September 26-29, 2014, from a random sample of 500 likely Chicago municipal election voters.  The poll has a margin of error of 4.4%.

Emperor Rahm needs to be voted out of office. His unwavering support of ticket cameras to take money from mostly safe drivers with deliberately improper traffic engineering scams makes him unfit to keep his office.

The same “throw the bums out” should apply to all the Aldermen who support cameras.
