Berwyn/Cicero, Ill.–The Morton High School Football program issued its annual promotional poster for the 2015 season. This year, 22 Mustangs on the varsity squad, all seniors, are featured on the poster.

The players are: Ricardo Alejandre, Gerrard Arias, Jaime Avelar, Lizandro Barragan, Christian Bautista, Adrian Carmona, A.J. Delbosque, Ben Duarte, Fernie Duarte, Darin Gipson, Obed Liera, Alex Muñoz, Jose Muratalla, Sean Owens, Tavolis Parker, Miguel Quiñones, Ismael Rivera, Xavier Rodriguez, Miguel Torres, Jovan Vazquez, Beto Viramontes and Sammie Williams. The Varsity Football Head Coach is Bob Organ.

Students of the Morton West Graphic Arts Department photographed, designed and printed the posters for distribution in the schools and the community. The program started last year under the supervision of graphic arts teacher Mike Battistoni. His students won awards for their posters at competitions last spring hosted by Triton College and Harper College.

Anthony Valdoviños (Morton West, Class of 2016) displays the football poster he created. Valdoviños, also the lead designer of the 2015 Varsity Baseball poster, is the first student with two designs selected for publication.

The lead designer of the 2015 football poster is Anthony Valdoviños (Morton West, Class of 2016). Work began with photography by Zeltzin Alicia Vazquez (Morton West, Class of 2015) in May and was completed by students at the beginning of the school year. “All this time and effort has come down to a fantastic work of art,” Valdoviños said. “It was great to finish this for the first game!” Valdoviños also designed the 2015 Varsity Baseball poster.

The Athletics & Activities Department plans to release schedule posters for Boys Soccer, Girls Volleyball, Wrestling, Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball, Softball, Baseball and Girls Soccer during the 2015-2016 school year. All will be designed and printed by the Morton West Graphic Arts production classes, with sponsorship from the Morton Booster Club.

Sterling Morton High School District 201 educates more than 8,300 students from the communities of Berwyn, Cicero, Lyons, Stickney, Forest View and McCook.
