Morton College is proud to announce it has narrowed the list of nominees for president to four names. After careful consideration by Morton College’s Presidential Search Committee and the Board of Trustees, the community college located in Cicero, Illinois, has revealed that the four finalists are: Ms. Mayra Barahona-Arroyo, principal of J. Sterling Morton 201’s Freshman Center; Dr. Stanley Fields, Superintendent of School District 100 in Berwyn, Illinois; Dr. William Griffin, chairman of the accounting and business department at Triton College; and Dr. Suleyma Perez, executive director of government relations at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago.
Throughout a one-week period, each finalist will visit Morton College and meet with college faculty and staff, as well as visiting with students and district residents interested in meeting the candidates. They will be interviewed by the search committee and the Board of Trustees with hopes that a final decision will be made before the end of the year.
Dr. Griffin visits Morton College on Friday, September 25. The following Monday, September 28, will see Ms. Barahona-Arroyo’s arrival. Wednesday, September 30, will be Dr. Fields’ turn to visit the campus with Dr. Perez coming the next day on October 1.
