This spring, Pace staff will be at suburban transit centers throughout the region in an effort to put Ventra Cards directly into the hands of the agency’s customers to ease their transition to the new fare payment system. Beginning July 1, 2014, Pace will only accept cash or the Ventra Card for fare payment and cash-paying riders will not be able to purchase transfers.
Pace will be in Cicero on May, 15, 2014, at the Cicero Town Hall, 4949 West Cermak Road between 9 A.M. and 4 P.M.
To receive a free card, customers must fill out a registration form (available on-site) and present it with a valid, state-issued photo ID. Customers will have the option of waiting for staff to complete the registration process on-site to receive a card immediately, or turning in a verified form to receive their card by mail within 3-5 business days. To participate, customers must present their form in person; forms submitted via post will not be accepted.
Dates, times and locations of more events will be announced in the coming weeks. Please watch and listen for announcements on Pace buses and at PaceBus.com. The dates and times of other balance transfer and informational events hosted by the CTA are available in the Events section at ventrachicago.com.
Customers can add transit value to their Ventra Card at vending machines, ventrachicago.com, by phone at 877-NOW-VENTRA, or at a participating Ventra retail location (location information available online or by phone).
RTA Reduced Fare, Ride Free and ADA Paratransit permit holders are encouraged to activate their new Ventra permits. If you have not activated your new Ventra permit or need assistance with activation, please call 1-877-450-5328. If you have not received your new permit, or have any questions about your new permit, call RTA at 312-913-3110. Beginning July 1, 2014, Pace will only accept cash or the Ventra Card for fare payment.
