Election Schedule Overview for March 18 Primary
Thursday, February 6, 2014: First day for any registered voter within the confines of the U.S.to make application by mail or in person to the Cook County Clerk’s Office for an official ballot.

Wednesday, February 19, 2014: First day of grace period registration and grace period voting in the office of the Cook County Clerk’s Office or at a location designated for this purpose by the election authority. Grace period voting may be done by mail at the discretion of the election authority.
Monday, March 3, 2014: First day for Early Voting at Des Plaines City Hall, 1420 Miner Street, 1st Floor, or at a location designated by the election authority for this purpose.
Early Voting: Monday, March 3, 2014 through Saturday, March 8 and Monday, March 10, 2014 through Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Des Plaines City Hall, 1420 Miner Street, 1st Floor, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Thursday, March 13, 2014: Last day to request a mail ballot, including military and overseas voters.
Saturday, March 15, 2014: Last day for Early Voting at Des Plaines City Hall, 1420 Miner Street, 1st Floor, or at a location designated by the election authority for this purpose.

Monday, March 17, 2014: Last day voted mail ballots can be postmarked for acceptance by the Cook County Clerk’s Office.

In November 2006, he was named “Best Ethnic American Columnist” by the New American Media;In 2009, he received the prestigious Sigma Delta Chi Award for Writing from the Society of Professional Journalists. Hanania has also received two (2) Chicago Stick-o-Type awards from the Chicago Newspaper Guild, and in 1990 was nominated by the Chicago Sun-Times for a Pulitzer Prize for his four-part series on the Palestinian Intifada.
Hanania’s writings have been published in newspapers around the world. He currently is syndicated through Creators Syndicate and his column is feature every Sunday in the Saudi Gazette in Saudi Arabia. He has written for the Jerusalem Post, YNetNews.com, Newsday in New York, the Orlando Sentinel, the Houston Chronicle, The Daily Star, the News of the World, the Daily Yomimuri in Tokyo, Chicago Magazine, the Arlington Heights Daily Herald, and Aramco Magazine. His Chicagoland political columns are published in the Southwest News-Herald and Des Plaines Valley News on several Chicagoland blogs including the OrlandParker.com and SuburbanChicagoland.com.
